Park Slope Cabinetry
Completed: March 2022
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Project Type: custom millwork, residential millwork, full-service installation, interior build-out
Built in an historic Park Slope townhouse, this apartment renovation features cabinetry and architectural millwork crafted by Stand and Build. Designed by Jane Kim, the color and materiality of the apartment were of key concern. The design features brightly colored geometric tiles as a backsplash in the kitchen and flooring in the bathroom, contrasting with the natural wood cabinetry, flooring, and molding throughout the rest of the apartment.
Stand and Build fabricated a set of custom kitchen cabinetry, made of rift sawn walnut and finished with a matte clear lacquer. On the opposite wall from the kitchen is a floor to ceiling bookshelf, built to fit around the original existing molding and sliding doors. Stand and Build also made a built-in desk and set of three floating shelves, as well as the bathroom vanity. Additionally, our team built a set of custom closet shelves, including one dedicated specifically for board games.
