‘The Tower’ is a 14 foot tall sculpture that is the first sculptural work in Devan Shimoyama’s tarot series. Inspired by a charred and blackened chimney of an abandoned building near his house, Devan stated, “this work positions the viewer as those who sought to climb it in search of power. It is glittering and black, as I imagine it would look after being struck by lightning, having absorbed its power, full of potential.”
